WELCOME TO

NORTHEAST COLORADO'S HISTORIC PHOTOBOOK

How it began.....

For as long as I can remember I have been interested in historic heritage of how we lived long ago in rural America. I would drive by old weathered churches, boarded up one-room school houses, old gas stations with broken windows and weeds as tall as the pumps, and wonder who the people were that dotted the landscape of these once rich vibrant communities? How did they survive the harsh prairie winters? Who operated the general store? Was there a doctor in town? Who built the first theatre? What was their main source of income? Show most anyone a picture from the past and it most likely stirs up a hardy conversation.
Thankfully, those photos are out there but many times they are tucked away in a drawer waiting for that perfect album or hidden under piles of boxes in the attic or even on a zip drive or computer. With the help of my father in law and others, I have gathered up a collection of valuable photos in order to piece together a beautiful retelling of what the landscape of the past was like. Come along and be apart of that journey.
