After 98 years and many costly repairs it was time for a new face lift to the historic clock in the Town Hall in Haxtun Colorado. A much needed renovation!
Through the years it was modified and adjusted to keep the old clock running, but lately it began winding down to a point that it was beyond repair. So, with the help of town employees and donations the renovation of the old clock began. The city was able to purchase a 1920's era clock face and local engineers were able to restore it to the original form. The unveiling was held in September of 2018.
In the early days the clock was the center of the local attraction in the small rural community of Haxtun CO. When the building (and clock) was first constructed in 1920 it was owned by the First National Bank. Some locals recall that it sat empty for some years before it was again occupied by the city of Haxtun as the Town Hall in the mid 1940's. The clock has always remained on the east facing wall of that building.
